Ben and Tarka will cover 1800 miles starting from Scott's Terra Nova Hut at the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back to the coast again. That's equivalent to 69 back-to-back marathons hauling up to 200kg each (the weight of roughly two adult men) of kit and supplies necessary to survive.

Ben and Tarka picked up their depot last night and will spend today at their current camp site. They didn't send a blog back yesterday but will do this evening. They are both tired but absolutly fine and are just spending a day catching up on admin. Now they have picked up the Iridium Pilot at their depot they will also send back some photos from the South Pole later today.

I was horseback riding yesterday. The smooth pace of one foot after the other carried me on an upward trail. Green hills of various heights and roundedness were positioned around me and in the distance through the haze I could see the ocean. I kept thinking of you guys… wondering how you are doing, imagining your pace in the antarctic, through wincing conditions, each step forward over the vast white of crispy aged frozen ground. Hoping all is relatively well. Godspeed and Peace.

All is well at the level of this effort,the expedition is concentrated and is processing before and in doing the miles.
Doubtless, all the persons here are waiting, to not tire the expedition, looking for the announced photos.

What has happened to all our followers here. Two days ago we had 375 comments in one day, yesterday 56 and now today only 15 so far. Well I’m here posting every day not just when there is bad news. The guys on the ice taking a day off and resting today. I’m wishing you guys on the ice a nice day hope your staying warm there on the bottom of the World.

To George: I am here :-D Not only me but many of my friends do follow their journey but do not dare to write here - two of my friends, my mom, my son.I joined only recently - a few days ago, I just learned about this expedition from our newspaper - thus I come late. But I am glad to join now as this really takes a lot of my nerves - I am so nervous about these two guys, I want them back in warmth already.
It is funny to follow them via Google Earth and to see their a-few-metres moves within the depot.
