    Distance

Ben and Tarka will cover 1800 miles starting from Scott's Terra Nova Hut at the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back to the coast again. That's equivalent to 69 back-to-back marathons hauling up to 200kg each (the weight of roughly two adult men) of kit and supplies necessary to survive.

Distances here are shown in statute miles.

4 Weeks to Go (Video Diary)

Here's the low down from Ben with just under four weeks to go now until departure for Antarctica!

The doorbell hasn't stopped with deliveries arriving daily - everything from 60kg of powdered energy drinks, to sleeping bags, skis, bindings, poles and more. The days are flying so quickly it's Friday before it feels like Monday's barely begun.

In the whirlwind of the last couple of months it's hard to believe we're almost there. But departure is now just around the corner.

Ben will obviously be blogging here (daily from Antarctica) but we've also got a host of social media channels now set up -  YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and G+ - where you'll be able to find more videos, pictures and updates.

Finally, if you'd like to be a part of the jouney please do have a quick look here for further information about sponsoring one of the 1800 miles Ben and Tarka will be covering.

Ben
Shouldn’t you have shipped all that stuff out to Punta by now, or are you bringing it all with you as excess/oversize luggage ? ;-)
